Spitting in someone’s food.
Alleged Power and Cruelty.
There is a story that has been doing rounds, regarding this MP and his wife having been arrested for abusing their domestic help,in India.
They did not just abuse, they managed to kill one of them and another victim has come out with certain gory details. Like how the wife used to spit in their food and make sure that they ate it in front of her,she asked them to eat without using their hands and used to beat the living shit of them with rods and what have you when she had one of her rage fits.
This female was quite adept with torture -and that is what we call it,not punishment as her husband had apparently told one of the victims- she used to use hot iron to punish these poor souls, pull out their teeth or break them- am a tad sketchy on this detail.
This lady obviously has some repressed issues or is a plain sadomasochist, sans the sexual part, though we will never really know, will we?
I will admit the first thought that came into my head-which is so desperately ready to believe the worst in people- was that these people who come primarily from a rural background when inundated with power,it is power according to them to be able to hire people to run your errands, they become consumed by it.
Then the more rational apart of my brain decided to chide self for I know nothing of this person’s background,moreover-people who are educated and supposed to be profound and all knowing are daft and cruel too.
I realised something at that point, people choose cruelty to exert power. We have innumerable examples that corroborate this in history. Yes,Leopold II of Belgium,I am looking at you.
Cruelty is not just a physical manifestation of the darker aspects of our mind but it can be verbal or emotional,it can be something as simple as a cold glance.
I tend to try to rationalise or at least comprehend the motivation behind a person’s actions,I somehow feel more comfortable when I am able to compartmentalise them-then when they are in the well labelled boxes in my head,I do not need to ponder over them.
Rationalising somebody’s actions does not mean that I agree with them,it just gives me a sense of awareness because I do believe that everyone is essentially the same person and we have all the aspects, except that we choose to portray ourselves or mould self in a particular manner.
This is not always entirely in our hands and there are various reasons for a person being the way,he is.
That would be another post. For another day.
My first post is about spit, people and the darker places in their mind.
