One of the key to build successful relationships is we should show interest in other people. Think what other people like, in which activities they are interested. Show interest in those activities which are important for them. We can make friends and influence the people by just applying a simple trick and that is people love it when we talk about them. Talk people about their friends, family, hobbies, interest, and about their other activities. It expresses your sincere interest and in this way you can realize them that they are really important for you. Active listening is one of the key to show enthusiasm. When you meet people greet them warmly and make feel them they are the most important person for you. Every time you meet them greet with same warmth in your voice.

In your communication call people with their names. In Dale Carnegie book How to Win Friends and Influence People, he wrote “if you want to win friends, make it a point to remember them. If you remember my name, you pay me a subtle compliment; you indicate that I have made an impression on you .Remember my name and you add to my feeling of importance.”

You first try to become interested instead of interesting. Dale Carnegie talks about this principle in his book.

Yesterday I spend some time with my friends and just talk about them. They got surprised that I was continually taking interest in their activities. It was great experience for me.
