In the vast realm of cosmology and theoretical physics, there’s an idea that captures both the imagination and scientific inquiry, the concept of infinite parallel universes.

In Brian Greene’s, “The Hidden Reality: Parallel Universes and the Deep Laws of the Cosmos” (2011), there are multiple approaches to the idea of parallel universes, each grounded in varying branches of scientific thought.

Rooted in the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, this theory suggests that with every decision, two parallel universes emerge: one where the decision was made, and another where it wasn’t.

Hugh Everett III first proposed this many-worlds interpretation in his 1957 Ph.D. thesis, “The Theory of the Universal Wave Function.” (source)

“All possible futures and all possible pasts actually happen.”

— Brian Greene

In this paradigm, every possibility plays out somewhere in the cosmos, suggesting infinite universes, all co-existing in a multidimensional space.

“Parallel universes. Not just a staple of science fiction, other universes are a direct implication of cosmological observations.”

— Neil deGrasse Tyson
