A Delicious and Simple Homemade Miso Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup miso paste
  • 1/2 cup diced tofu
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 sheet nori (seaweed), cut into thin strips
  • Optional: cooked noodles, spinach, or other vegetables

Directions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Place miso paste in a small bowl and add a ladleful of hot water. Stir until the miso paste is dissolved.
  3. Pour the dissolved miso paste back into the saucepan with the rest of the hot water and stir to combine.
  4. Add diced tofu, sliced mushrooms, and sliced green onions to the soup. Cook for 5–7 minutes, or until the tofu is heated through and the mushrooms are tender.
  5. Taste the soup and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Ladle the miso soup into bowls and garnish with nori strips.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
