Why does design thinking make sense in education?

Design thinking gives students the chance to see connections between the real world and content learnt in the classroom. This allows the students to move into the real world with a head full of prior knowledge and how they can make an impact on issues that are in our world.

Why is it important to consider Design Thinking as a scaffold for learning in 2017?

Design thinking is useful as a students mentor/teacher as it gives us the chance to prepare our students for the changes that they will be presented with over their lives. The students of today will become the creators and future leaders the world. Design Thinking allows these students to be exposed with unique ways of tackling situations when they step out into the big and scary real world.
