I cannot agree more! It seems, more and more, that people forget that worth/success doesn’t have to be measured strictly dollars. Personal business (or side-hustle, if you will) success isn’t measured in dollars and cents for me. The way I see it, completing a project and getting paid is great, but not a performance indicator. Having a client come back for a second, third, or fourth project, or having a potential new client reach out because of a referral from a different client, is a far better indicator of “job well done.” And you can’t have those “job well done” moments if you only act as a contractor instead of a friend.
