My Mission
Written on April 20, 2017 when for a few hours I genuinely thought I might be dying — and how I am carrying this mission forward now that I am alive for the foreseeable future.
“I want to help make the world a better place.
I want to be there for people — to have everyone’s backs. To let them know that they are cared for — even if it’s just by one person. I care. I care about you and your soul, no matter what you’ve done or who you think you are.
I don’t know what lies beyond this life as we know it — but I do know that we are all here right now, in this together. That’s one of the only things I’m certain of — is that this world and the future belongs to all of us — and our actions are not isolate objects. They are causal — they have ripple effects.
We need to take care of each other. Humans are social animals, we would not be able to survive without each other. Yet, in today’s world I see so many selfish behaviors that take place at the expense of others and our future here on Earth. It shows up in business and use of digital technology.
My mission is to inspire human actors to care for one another in everything they do — and to let every single human know how marvelous & incredible & cared for they are — if by no one else, then by me (And of course all that is).”
Now that I’m not dying, I am taking this mission and beginning a new chapter in my life and in my career.
At the end of August I am leaving my job and my home. I don’t have plans beyond:
- Following that which genuinely pulls me
- Continuing the deep and necessary self-healing work I started at the beginning of this year (I’ve recently understood that self-healing and care is critical to the wellness of the world and others — when you heal yourself you show up fully, and ready to authentically contribute)
- Preparing for the amazing opportunity I have been given to present at the EPIC conference in October (the presentation is called ‘What is the Value of a Perspective?’ and is in line with my mission)
I am so humbled by, and grateful for my journey thus far — the people that I have met over the past 3.5 years are incredible and have deeply & meaningfully impacted who I am today. As I wander into the field of potentiality with My Mission, I look forward to learning and collaborating with amazing people who are committed to the collective well being.
I don’t know what lies ahead, or what my future looks like, or what my job title is, or even where I’m going to live — But I’m okay with that, because I am purposefully choosing to create the space for my path to emerge, rather than operating from fear and forcing my way toward outcomes.
Please do reach out if you have been in a similar place and want to share your experience, if you want to collaborate, or if you have questions, or if my message resonates with you, or just because you want to.
