Crowd Sourcing Information is fairly important in a Journalists Role.
When you crowd source information, you are using a sourcing model, where individuals can obtain services, goods, or information.
Its the Journalists job to network. To make those bridges between news, in order to get the fuller and more complete story. For this reason, I believe that crowd sourcing is essential to the everyday Journalist.
Journalists are able to crowdsource information from a particular group, and then they can fact checking all of the information, before they publish it into articles that they see fit.

‘Doxing’ is another important piece to consider, in the Journalist’s role.
Doxing is the internet based practice, when you are researching and broadcasting an individual, or organizations private information.
From an ethical viewpoint, obviously it is the Journalist job to avoid using slander, or any form of libel. I think, because of this it is really important that a Journalist use doxing sparingly. I believe it is very important for the journalist to avoid being bias in their information. Once private information is leaked, I think this can lead to story bias. Overall, I just believe Journalist should be careful with doxing.

I think the best way to bring raw social media, into the forefront of a breaking story-is to use social media stories. What better way to get live minute by minute information, than to share these ‘breaking news’ moments via Instagram, Snapchat, or Facebook stories. I feel you are able to get the full story, if you are updated minute by minute, in the social media form. I’ve come to realize that some newsrooms are using stories more often.

I think the best way to retell a news story, after a breaking news social media frenzy (like that of the Boston bombings) is to do the best you can in broadcasting the information to the viewers. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what the best way to do this would be. I feel with ‘breaking news’ all bets are off on what the ‘best’ way is to cover. I think you just have to do your best, in telling the most up to date and honest story you can. It must be difficult. Hopefully, I’ll be able to learn more on how to cover a breaking news story better.
