The SPCA is the place to give a furry friend a lovable home

By: Taylor Harker

The SPCA headquarters is located in the Northern Nevada area next to TMCC.

Why should you adopt? To save a life.

Daisy has been in the pound for one year now!

Adopting a rescue animal from a shelter is such a heartwarming gesture for any stray animal. And the SPCA is the perfect place to find your next lovable creature.

Lucy was found two miles from the pound with no dog tag or any sign of ownership.

The SPCA is the number one place to adopt. They were established in 1998 as Nevada’s first no kill animal shelter. Their mission is to be a regional leader responsible for treatment of homeless cats and dogs.

Betty came to the pound six months ago due to a family’s divorce.

They accomplish their mission with dedication to their core values and by promising to give a lifetime commitment to the animals. Every dog and cat here needs a loving home.

Grizzly is known to be the most mellow dog in the pound.

Each year 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the United States simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a pet.

The SPCA currently has full capacity of dogs it is able hold.

Each animal here has so much love to give, all they need is a home. Adopting ensures affection and kindness to an animal that has been lost or abandoned.

Volunteers come by everyday to walk and play with the animals!

Come by and visit any day from 11 to 6! They are located at 4950 Spectrum Blvd, Reno, NV 89512. Or feel free to call 775–324–7773!

These dogs have to stay in their cages for more than half the day. Don’t wait! Adopt!

Adopt today and play fetch tomorrow!
