Today we are excited to launch a new feature for Laravel Forge: database selection. Previously, all Forge servers were provisioned with both MySQL (or MariaDB) and PostgreSQL. No customization of this behavior has been offered in the past.
However, beginning today, you may select MySQL 5.7, MariaDB 10.2, PostgreSQL 9.5, or even no database at all. Simply use the new “Database” drop-down selection menu when creating your server:
If you don’t have a Forge account, now is a great time to sign up. Forge allows you to painlessly create and manage PHP 7.1 servers which include MySQL, Redis, Memcached, and everything else you need to run robust, modern Laravel applications.
