Damn good rant…👍

I have found myself using the word moron more than I ever thought I would have. Every time I see that moron’s face, you know who he is, I am seized by despair that such a great country could do this to itself.

He is the result of voter despair and second childhood. People who voted for him did so because they wanted to be protected, because they are afraid, because they would accept lies on the off chance they might come true. They do not have the character to face reality anymore. They have given up on America, because America has failed them, in their view. They wanted the world to stay the same as it was 50 years ago, when America could bully other countries into accepting trade deals that let America in. America would then out produce and out sell local companies, ruining the lives of the locals who lived and worked there, but expanding the lives of the Americans who worked at the factories in America pouring out goods for the world. Now the world is catching up and the workers in America think that is unfair. They have elected a man and a party who, respectively, symbolize and created the problem that has put them where they are. He symbolizes it, by being the face of the foreign producer. He says “don’t hate me, the rules allowed me to make ties in China, so I did; let’s change those laws”. He won’t and can’t, because the Stupid Party that he supposedly represents is the one that promoted and caused all the changes to allow foreign production and a hollowing out of America. His moronic supporters have elected all the people that caused the problem in the first place.

So these moronic voters did not listen to an intelligent woman who said the truth about coal and overseas production. Who explained the difficulties we faced and how we would deal with and overcome them. Instead, they took the simple route and voted for the simplistic, deeply stupid man who said he had the answers, without being able to say what those answers are. And when the intelligent woman, criticized for being paid to make speeches to banks for so much money, said in reply that is what they offered me she was criticized heavily. Even though, that is exactly what the moron was saying: “the rules let me make my ties in China and that is bad, but don’t blame me”…and they did not and do not. Because they are as venal and as deeply stupid as he is.

Looking at the campaign photos of his supporters, wearing those idiotic hats, with those moronic buttons plastered all over them, applauding, actually applauding, his bullying, sexist, disgusting, deeply stupid statements, convinced me they had to be a minority in this great country. And they are a minority. But they are a big enough minority to have actually elected a completely inappropriate person to the highest office in the land.

So the Earth will continue to go around the sun. And America will continue to exist in its present form for a while. But that may change, just as the Earth may change: as intelligent people realize they do not want to be ruled by a moron, nor do they want to have to answer to his moronic supporters, America is not guaranteed to be forever strong and united. When such stupid, self-interested decisions can be made by so many people that such an inappropriate person can be elected to the highest office, why should America continue to exist in its present form? When its method of government, designed to control for problems of an earlier age, means one person one vote does not decide elections, why should those who deeply disagree with such egregious stupidity continue to live within a system that can produce such a result against the will of the majority?

George W Bush feared he might be the last Republican President, in that the present one is not really a Republican. The present one may be the last President of these Unites States tout court. How can any reasonably intelligent person contemplate having him as her or his leader for the next four years?? And remember that he has now registered for the next campaign and is raising money for it? And why? Because that is the best way he can “monetize” his presidency. He can pay his family and his own companies from campaign donations. And his venal donors, seeing gain from his harmful actions are willing to donate, so long as they can benefit at the same time. His ultimate sleaze is soaking into the American body politic and I am not sure it can ever be entirely washed out.
