Disney vs. Pixar
Weirdly to me it feels as if these two compete, yes I know that Pixar is owned by Disney but I feel with the release of Big Hero 6 by Disney they’re competing with Pixar’s stories and life lessons. The saddest day for animation was the day that we abandoned hand-drawn animation, I feel that since Disney does own Pixar they should’ve kept Disney in its tradition and let Pixar be the real hardcore computer animation sector of the Disney corporation as a whole.
That all being said, I absolutely adored Big Hero 6, that movie made me run the gambit of human emotions from laughter till I cried, to actually crying because I was heartbroken. I’m always a fan of animated movies that bring something adult to the table for the parents taking their kids to the movies to have a little sort of secret insider laugh while their kids are oblivious to the adult humor. (I think a prime example of this sort of thing is Shrek, I loved it when I was a kid for all the typical kid reasons, and then as I have grown up I find it even funnier because I see all the adult humor in it.)
Anyways sorry to deviate from the topic at hand, which if you weren’t aware it was Big Hero 6, which to make a long story short is well worth seeing and the story line is great, although I’m more excited to see Inside Out which is the new pixar film that focuses on our basic human emotions (in a dehumanizing way). Can’t wait.
