Yeah, this is not that. This response does what you accuse the author of doing, ignores and erases the reality that women can be (and have been) exploited by underdeveloped men. We joke about how long it takes men to mature, but in reality it is a burden for the woman who wants to partner with him, but has to learn to become his mommy-daughter because he needs guidance but doesn’t want to be told what to do. The article focuses on a very real problem especially in the Black community (but not exclusive to the Black community) that men need mentorship and accountability. If you know you want someone to string along, at least let her be on board. We jokingly say men are hunters, dismissing the inference that women (…people, humans with souls, passions, purpose and value) are prey. Yes some women (people, humans with souls etc.) have acted cruelty but bringing this argument here is like saying Blue Lives Matter. Yes. Yes they do. But so do the lives affected by some of those in Blue. Don’t shut down this narrative because you haven’t experienced it.
