If you’re searching to add “delight” via UI, you’re barking up the wrong tree.
When we reference the Kano model, we can see how UI delights might typically only smooth out frustrations or provide short-term boosts to the users’ experience.
To build long lasting delight, you need to look to UX and research deeper frustrations with your product and industry and create significant, surprising shortcuts that can deliver delight longer-term.
The trouble, of course, is that eventually delight becomes expectation, and the whole cycle begins anew. But that’s why we get paid, isn’t it. :)
