Networking 101 — Add 51% of The Value!

I was in High School when I first starting using LinkedIn. Going through the internet, looking up well known business people and successful entrepreneurs that I could try and connect with to gain their knowledge and insights. What value did I have to add to them though? A young hunger for success? A moldable, sponge like mindset? Something Gary Vaynerchuk talks a lot about in his posts that has really resonated with me is — Add 51% of the value -. In the connections I make, I aim to embody that to the fullest.

The people who you surround yourself with are directly proportionate to your own success and growth — I recently reached out to Gerard Adam (Co-founder, Elite Daily), Adam Braun, and a few other hugely successful individuals in the NYC eco-system, to get their insights on how they’ve achieved success — each time I reach out, the big question I asked myself is — “What is the value I can bring to them?” — Fortunately, through SingleSprout, I’ve been lucky enough to meet a number of extremely smart co-founders, engineers and individuals, and put myself at the forefront of the current NYC Tech Scene.

“The harder you work, the luckier you become”

We’ve hired for over 50 companies here in NYC and in LA, everyone from a building out the initial engineering team of a startup disrupting healthcare now valued over $1.5B, to working with amazing companies such as ActionIQ, Segovia, Hometeam, the list goes on and on. I’m able to have a birds eye view on the current tech eco-system here in NYC, the landscape of startups that are doing well, and those that are losing traction. Day in and day out, we pound the pavement working with the top startups, talking to the top engineers, because we love what we do, no bullshit. Most days, I get to work at 7:30am and stay till 7pm, why? Because I love it — not only the ability to be key contributors to these startups success and growth, but to make these individuals lives better by putting them in a position to make a massive impact and truly enjoy their day to day at these startups.

So what is the value I have to offer the Gary Vaynerchuk’s, Gerard Adams’ and Adam Braun’s of the world?

A rare insight into both the NYC and LA tech scene. Trends in engineering, startups, and company’s growth. The expertise to grow the engineering and design teams for any of their new ventures.

Does it matter? Only time will tell, but the grind will never stop.
