Hey Rick! Great post. Excited for your book. I work in AdTech with a lot of the behind the scenes data, but I’m also of the age group that questions the morality of every choice I make, all day long. I have a conversation starter where I say “all forms of advertising should be illegal.” It’s a great one. People either immediately hate me, or they dive into a rabbit hole where we’re forced to look at the power of externalities on everything in our lives!
I host a podcast (Zengineering) that I would love to talk to you about guesting on. My co-host and I have tried a few episodes in the past where we discuss the technologies, economics, and the social impact around advertising in the modern world, but it’s been a touchy subject.
