I followed a lot of guru in personal development. Here I found one of the mutual advice that is

You Are What You Think.

For example, what we get the most from these gurus is think positively regardless how hard the situation is. For example, you are given a very difficult task and which require you to overtime for a month. Instead of thinking that you lost your valuable time & freedom, you could take this as a opportunity to learn more great things and raise your level in your industry.

Yet, do you know why all the gurus recommended this? This is because of associative mind. Simply put it, it is a thought lead to another thoughts, and those thoughts lead to another thoughts. It is just like a water ripple effect.

For example, if you’re looking at a couple who walking in the mall and when you see they’re smiling on their face, then another thought will come to you is they’re happy.

That’s why all the food ads show us the actors enjoying the great food and having a great time and laugh together. Thus, when the next time you think of that food, you will of think of the ads and you will associate the thought that this food will actually bring you happiness.

Thus, our thought is very associated with each other, that’s why gurus always promote to think positively, think like a winner, and be kind. Because that’s how our mind works. Our minds associate our thoughts and connect them.

Practical Example

  • Smile more. (I am sure lot of you heard of this experience, fake a smile in your face and think of sad and negative stuff. I tried it and I can’t feel sad when I have my smile on. How about you?)
