DISCIPLINA functionality. Part 1
DISCIPLINA is a multifunctional blockchain for projects in the fields of education and recruitment to store confidential information, such as the courses, students’ tasks, grades, and test results. The DISCIPLINA team decided to create their own blockchain architecture because none of the existing solutions suit the needs of the project.
Public blockchain solutions, such as Ethereum or EOS, store all of their transactions in open access. At the same time, private blockchain solutions, such as Hyperledger, cannot ensure enough verifiability of the data stored on them.
That is why DISCIPLINA is being developed as a private-public blockchain. The private segment will allow only the hashes of the records into open access, while the public segment will provide the access to the data that verifies the integrity of the private chains and the reliability of the data stored by the network. This is done to store private and personal user data, as well as those materials that are protected by copyright or commercial confidentiality. Such data includes the information on students and educational institutions.
Every educational institution will be given its own private chain and the opportunity to monetize educational records stored there. Recruiters and other interested parties are offered paid access to the information, including the academic history and achievements of the students.
The validity of the segments within the private blockchains of the educational institutions will be checked by Witnesses. They will manage the public chain of blocks, where the data created within each educational institution is hashed. The witnesses won’t have access to the data itself, only to the hashes of the data.
