#234 👩‍👦 Transforming expressions of Mother’s Love: From Feeding to Health
So, I normally don’t eat after 8 pm. For the last two weeks in Goa, because subscribed to lunch and has fixed timing, I’ve been having one meal in the morning around 7–8am and another at 2 pm, and that’s it. On the days I party, I take Beriberis root to reduce my glucose level in the blood. At home in kerala, five days a week, I used to refuse food when my aunt and family has late dinner, this was the party day.

In the past, a mental model of mother’s love was often expressed through the desire for her children to be well-fed, looking plump, a tangible and primitive display of affection and marker of fulfilling sole purpose of mother. It was all about ensuring their little ones had enough to eat. Today too, my mother expressed that before she eats, the thought that passes her mind, did we eat. So sending photos of my food has been a thing.
