I originally tried the DNS MITM approach a couple months back, but it looks as though the Dash buttons are hard coded to use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS server (which is kind of crazy since that’s owned by Google). Listening for ARP really isn’t all that expensive and seems to be pretty reliable.
