The very last frontier in California, Central Valley California, a.k.a. Cyber Valley.

Why be dinosaur food? The bird in the hand is not worth contributing your entire being to status quo. Is the existing state of affairs in ones community the perfect reason not to move forward?

Is this mission statement too complicated:

The Q Project’s mission is to foster investigative research of fundamental and
applied questions across disciplines using big data analytics and appropriate
computational methods; to discover big data analytics of complex questions; and to encourage broader participation in understanding the importance of cross-disciplinary research using big data analytics. The Q Project (“Q”) is a graduate student run organization furthering the diversity and advancement of the analyses of very large data sets in the sciences, with the collaborative assistance of the community and all interested students and faculty of the University of California, Merced. The Q promotes outreach to the community and university by hosting workshops that inform individuals
of the opportunities available to them in the sciences. We also seek to aid students in the advancement of both professional and graduate school development goals by providing them with the resources, education, and mentor-ship opportunities from professionals in the scientific community while creating an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere for all. Q members are ambitious and seek to educate themselves and support each other in the development of innovative solutions in data science in a fun environment that fosters learning.
