Really good article. At my previous two employers, it was not uncommon for people to “roll-over” anywhere from 7–21 days of vacation that they didn’t use and it would roll over to potentially be used the next year. Year after year people didn’t use anywhere close to their full allotment of vacation days. The primary reason appeared to be 1) they couldn’t keep up with the work; and 2) the guilt from coming back and being behind on work was extreme.
