The Great British Node Conference

It’s been nearly two years since I started running the London Node.js user group. We've had over 60 speakers present across 21 meetups with talks covering every different aspect of the platform.

As the popularity of Node and JavaScript exploded, so too has the number of events across the world. It was only a matter of time before there was a Node.js conference in the UK.

The Great British Node Conference is that conference. On October 8th, 2013, we’re inviting 100 people and 10 speakers to England’s first ever Node.js conference, I hope you can join us.

I’ve helped run a good number of user groups over the past couple of years, but this will be the first conference I’ve organsied. I’ve teamed up with Nuno Job, founder of The Node Firm and curator of LXJS to help out.

JS Conf, Node Conf and LXJS have set the bar incredibly high for to run an amazing conference, I hope that we can put on something half as good as them.

It’s going to be a very opinionated conference, exactly the kind of event that I would love to attend, focusing on these areas especially:

We’re trying to bring together the best speakers from around the UK to London, the heart of british technology.

The conference should be affordable to everyone, tickets will be £100 each.

Community focused

It’s all about the people, no pitches or sponsors speaker slots, just 100% JavaScript.

Engaging and interactive

The conference is all about building the community, making friends and learning from each other.

We’ve still got a lot to pin down, we’ll be announcing the speakers and venue in the coming weeks and tickets will be on sale very soon.
