Burnaby Village School House

An eventful week, the highlight of which was our visit to the Burnaby Village Museum. There, students were able to discover the inner workings of a newspaper company (printing press included), a bank, a blacksmith, a general store and a barber shop in the 1920s. In the afternoon, students attended “class” where they did multiplication, cursive writing, etc. The lessons were done as if it was the 1920s.

This week, in our non-1920s classroom, we began assembling our PowerPoints on First Nations and just about finished our landscape models. Unfortunately, building an instrument had to be pushed to next week. Furthermore, most groups have presented their mini-plays. In Math, we started multiplication. If you would like you could practice the multiplication table (0–9) with your children:

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
