My Blackness Shouldn’t Offend You

The need in coming together to make the world better needs to happen now.

My black skin shouldn’t offend you. You don’t know me. Your blood boils when you see this pigmentation that exudes love. The media and speculation of who you think I am isn’t fair. The first action either of us can take in building relationships is by saying hello; and treating me like a human being. Drop the preconceive notions, stereotypes and listen.

Do you know I’ve broken barriers despite the status quo?

Do you know my heart smiles at people before I smile first?

Do you know that I listen to understand before I speak?

Do you know that we all can growth to understand one another, drop the stereotypes and make our world a better place?

If you think negatively of me before I even open my mouth, you’re part of the problem. And we can all fix this together. It’s not about black and white.

IT’S EVERYBODY VS. RACISM.

And at the same time, you need to understand that #BlackLivesMatter

Do you know that I’ve travelled the world since 2014 inspiring 2000+ children to chase and live out their dreams?

Of course not.

My hue says otherwise. But I refused to allow your hate (and often envy) of me to deter me from my ambitions.

Your heart and character will change whether you like it or not. Because if you refuse, the world will make it difficult for you to thrive or live in peace. It’s 2020 and our world is slowly moving towards a more just society. And racism, xenophobia, etc. are not welcomed here. We will expose you if you’re hiding among the good. What happens in the dark will come to light and be evaporated.

I constantly struggle living in this country because people know how we can make the world better, but are ignorant in taking positive steps towards it.I honestly have to be the change I want to see and continue to inspire people in the mist of the danger I face daily in America. I think about leaving this country again to “escape” this nightmare. But the power and spirit of my ancestors lives in me to #StayInTheFight

The fight for EQUALITY

The fight for a better and brighter TOMORROW

The fight to see a person’s HEART and CHARACTER FIRST

The fight to live a FULL LIFE AND THRIVE in a society WE’VE BUILT.

But to those still don’t understand, you’re lucky that POC only want EQUALITY and not REVENGE.

That’s not in our DNA.

LOVE AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER AND LIVE TO SEE ANOTHER DAY.
