ImmpactNews — Your Weekly U.S. Immigration News Source

As a young immigrant in my 20s, I am very familiar with the struggle of navigating through volatile U.S. immigration policy. My biggest goal is to give back to my parents who made great sacrifices by immigrating to a new country. However, this can be difficult as I often feel disadvantaged in my field, all thanks to the U.S. immigration system that is essentially designed to put immigrants like me in such a situation. For instance, as a hardworking college student I feel constrained by the lack of scholarships available to international students like me. I am sure many fellow international students can relate.
For quite some time, I have noticed that the general immigrant population is uninformed on immigration news. Even the simplest tasks like obtaining a driver’s license as well as difficult ones like visa changes are nothing short of anxiety episodes, all due to the available resources being difficult to comprehend by the common man. These situations instilled a great desire in me to educate my fellow young immigrants, who are pursuing promising careers, on immigration news and policy updates. I aspired to build a tool that can change the narrative on immigration, from outsourcing cheap labor and opening American borders to criminals, to attracting some of the brightest minds from a global talent pool. That is how ImmpactNews was born.
