What is Gridware?

Gridware provides sensors that operate independtly from the grid to identify and locate faults instantly and communicate those to utility companies. The company uses cutting-edge technology to streamline monitoring, management and troubleshooting processes to prevent outages and fix them quickly.

More about the funding round:

Gridware had previously raised a Seed round in May 2021 raising $5.3 million from lead investors Fifty Years and True Ventures. The company now closes its extension of the round 2 years later with $10.5 million with lead investors Fifty Years and Lowercarbon Capital. Other investors include Liquid 2 Ventures, Rebel Fund, TRAC, Wireframe Ventures, Hawktail Management, Kindergarten Ventures and Convective Capital.

The initial round allowed Gridware to deliver its technology to 5 states, collect 1 million hours of field data and add 20 people to its growing team. This extension will help Gridware fuel its growth and provide additional support to Gridware’s customer base (identifying aging infrastructure, reducing outage time and identifying wildfire risks before they even ignite).

Power lines can be a lifeline in a heatwave or the spark that setts off a wildfire. The difference is Gridware.

Chris Sacca, Co-Founder of lead investor Lowercarbon Capital
