Rapper Dowrong’s “Platoon” on Patrol outside Fallujah, Iraq.

Report: Austin Hip Hop Artist Joins Islamic State.

In the most recent display of musical radicalism since British rapper “Lyricist Jinn” was identified by British officials as an executioner, Texas Rapper “DoWrong” has emerged as America’s worst homegrown nightmare.

“This is a real as it gets… I’m sayin’.. We are live from the front lines out here. All enemies will fall in front of us,” Dowrong laments.

When our team finally caught up with “DoWrong” outside of Fallujah, Iraq, we were surprised to see not only the physical transformation that he had undergone since we had first seen him three years earlier at Austin’s SXSW music festival. His lexicon and substance had vastly changed as well. Still citing hip hop as a motivation and daily part of his life, the former local artist was able to successfully incorporate extremist-laden multis throughout his propaganda-filled prose.

Our first meeting with DoWrong was a by chance encounter while we were doing a piece on unofficial showcases at SXSW and their rising impact on the yearly industry gathering. At the time, the disgruntled rapper lamented the corporate culture of the music festival and was noticeably vexed that he was unable to sell his merchandise.

Given that background, when we received an email with the subject line “SEEN IT ALL” offering unfettered insight into the current surge and success of ISIS militants, we were surprised to find previous emails from the sender in our inbox. The past emails consisted of promotional tracks for mixtapes that our research shows have yet to be released. Regardless, we reached out and through unnamed intermediaries arranged a Skype interview to take place.

After several weeks of negotiations and guarantees of safety, were made to embed a #brealtv correspondent with a group of militants that are the Islamic State equivalent of an US infantry platoon. It was apparent that DoWrong leads his group with an iron fist and credits the groups successes as a testament to his emphasis on discipline and routine. The group rehearses and executes its reign of terror relentlessly.

A typical day begins with morning prayers and following that the group holds a Shura (meeting) to discuss different ways to promote unity and support among themselves — something that DoWrong insists is a key for optimal performance. However, it is not uncommon for these meetings to end in brutal violence.

Our correspondent reports, “I personally witnessed him check and, subsequently, wreck a member of his team for implying that he was in fact not the realest jihadist in Fallujah.” When later questioned about the incident DoWrong simply replied that his subordinate “had been found guilty of various charges up to, and including character defamation” and that it was important for his foes to understand that “there’s no sugar in my nut sack.”

Indeed, the power vacuum left by a crumbling Iraqi government and the brutally oppressive Assad regime has seemingly opened the door and provided killing fields for the misguided youth of America’s hip-hop culture to live out their warped street dream fantasies.

With no comprehensive plan in sight, American bureaucrats seem content to endorse the tax-subsidized we’ll-pay-you-to-play coalition and gamble the futures of an entire generation.

In the mean time, Dowrong has released an E.P. that chronicles his journey…
