In this article, we will delve into a month of intense and exciting activities, following the endeavors of a group involved in a remarkable project that combines engineering, creativity, and collaboration. The focus is on a team working on a robotics project, exploring various aspects such as cultural interactions, design, strategy, and execution.

Cultural Meetings With European, Asian, African and American Continents

The week began with an important cultural exchange, reflecting ourteam's diverse and inclusive nature. Engaging with representatives from Croatia, Iran and Sao Tome & Principe and many other countries allowed us to gain valuable insights into different perspectives.

Meetings With Eminent Personalities Of Our State Goa

Team India called upon Honorable Minister for Information & Technology, Government of Goa Shri @rohankhaunteofficial

at his office and gave him a presentation on their plans to inspire the Goan students. He appreciated the efforts and conveyed his support. He also felicitated the team for the selection of a Goan local team as Team India for @f1rstglobal by offering a Boquet of flowers and gift hampers.

.

We also met the Honorable Chief Minister Of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant

He congratulated us as a community for #robotics from Goa, on our selection to represent India at the FIRST Global Challenge. He extended his best wishes to all the team members for a successful outcome in the competition.

We even approached Mr. Jose Manuel Noronha Sir, the GPSC Chairman.

This opportunity allowed us to showcase our ideas and receive valuable feedback from the experienced professional. Following the presentation, the team engaged in extensive strategizing, discussing how to turn their vision into reality.

The Press Conference & Congratulatory Motion

Wednesday was filled with jubilation as we received accolades for our commendable efforts. A congratulatory motion in the Goa State Assembly was carried out that acknowledged the work and achievement done by us. We also held a press conference where various Goan Media Channels had come. It was a wonderful experience creating awareness about STEM in our society through the information we provided in our presentation about the FGC 2023.

The Game Reveal & Brainstorming Sessions

The anticipation reached its peak on Thursday as we witnessed the official game reveal by First Global Challenge. With the game rules unveiled, the team immediately delved into rehearsing their strategies, fine-tuning their approach to ensure precision during the final execution.

Outreach Sessions

CAD & 3D Printing Workshops → This was a 11 day workshop where the team learnt the basics of CAD and 3D Printing. It was conducted by an external instructor Mr. Archit Borkar in collaboration with us, Team India. It was a fun and creative experience that allowed us to broaden our think spans. These skills shall help us in making a design of our robot before actually building it.

App Building Workshop → This was like the major part of our outreach activities which helped us understand what is outreach. We started off with a small amount of people as we wanted to see how it goes. The participants were pleased by developing the app building skills.

Hardware

We started of with building a cube and fan from the REV Robotics Website in order to sharpen our grip on the tools and get firm with hardware (screws, nuts, bolts and more).

After learning the basic REV terminologies and more. After getting familiar with REV Hardware, the team started to check for good drivetrain designs. We planned to build a REV drivetrain with the existing pieces. From C-Channels (Metallic long C shaped rods) to Connecting Motors, we managed to finish the build in one day.

We planned on adding more to the same drivetrain and hence we tried to build a shooting mechanism as when we saw the previous year challenge it was concerned with shooting balls. We attached shafts and motors and tried to make it.

We soon realised that the chaining in our drivetrain was a bit off and hence spent 3 whole days to fix the chaining mechanism. Some other parts include attaching the battery, wheels and more…

As we bid farewell to this starting-amazing month, we eagerly await the exciting outcomes and celebrate our trailblazing spirit. I am sure you must’ve enjoyed reading and will continue.

Waiting to see you on our next article! -Team India, f1rst Global Challenge 2023
