A Tezos (XTZ) Block explorer — Crowdsourcing the requirements

With the recent announcement that tzscan.io, a very popular block explorer and API for the Tezos blockchain is shutting down, we thought we’d do a little something to give back to the community.

We decided to crowdsource the requirements on what the Tezos community would like to see in a new block explorer. If there is enough interest in seeing this come to life, we will build it, open source it and host it on the cloud.

Importantly, we’d also like to gauge the importance of each feature based on your feedback. This will enable us to prioritize and build out a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in short order.

To that end, we’d like to share a couple of documents that should be of interest for anyone that would like to participate in this requirements gathering process.

We’ve broken down the tzscan UI into its various constituent parts. This document will make it clear what we are referring to in the survey questionnaire link that follows.

Here’s a link to the annotated tzscan.io UI and and a link to our google survey.

We look forward to taking this project forward.

Excited about this project? Have other ideas? Join the discussion!

We are committed to building this out, given enough interest. The only thing we’d ask from the community is if you’re interested in seeing this come to life, please chime in on what’s important to you either in the comments section here on one of our channels or the survey. This will really help motivate the team. Much appreciated!
