So, It’s that time of the year again. Where we open our books for the first time in the semester, with no clue where to even begin.

But fret not, all it takes is a smart and decisive strategy to crack the IPU Exams. Below is a plan I executed during my time in 2nd semester. You don’t need to follow it blindly, read the approach and implement in your own way. In the end it’s you who takes a decision whether to study the whole night or ace the exams in the most comfortable manner.

Road to success

I have divided each subject into Notes, Books, Question Papers (PYQ) and the best approach to deal with the material.

ITP (Introduction to Programming)

Notes:

1. Unit 1 and Unit 2
2. Unit 1 to Unit 4

Books:

1. Let Us C
2. Solutions for Let Us C

Question Papers:

1. Link 1
2. Link 2

Best Approach

  1. In ITP, the best strategy is to completely solve and study Let Us C by Yashvant Kanetkar.
  2. Thoroughly read all the previous year questions, don’t rely on the solutions given in the booklet (Akash).
  3. Keep the notes for quick revision but primarily rely on Let Us C.

AM — II (Applied Mathematics — II)

Notes:

1. Unit 1 and Unit 2 — Refer Book
2. Unit 3 —Source 1, Source 2

Best Approach:

  1. Similar to ITP, follow the book well. Most preferably VP Mishra (Tailor made for IPU) but BS Grewal is good as well but requires more time than VP.
  2. Refer the video tutorials to understand a specific topic if needed in detail. Requires time from your side but it’s well worth it.
  3. Mathematics exam is easy and predictable, never shy away from practicing questions and don’t skip any topic.

2. Unit 2 — Source 1, Source 2
3. Unit 3
4. Unit 4 — Source 1, Source 2

CONCLUDING…

That’s pretty much what you need to deal with the end term exams, and if you are able to execute this strategy well (according to your terms), Practical’s Viva is handled automatically.

I hope the next month goes according to your expectations and you guys have an awesome 2 months of summer break where you work on your skill development and have fun.
