Our journey so far…

When building something new, it’s hard to talk about exactly what you’re going through; at best you’ll get that numbed, glazed look from your friends, and at worst, you’ll be that asshole ranting on about equity splits and incubators — strange concepts from a galaxy far far away.

One of the moments posted by a new startup on Teamstory

Artists have galleries, actors have studios, and entrepreneurs have…uh…let’s see…

Online communities — amazing at connecting people, but often feel more like a job interview than a place to talk freely; full blown content strategy needed prior to sharing.

Startup friends — best people to talk to but often too busy working to chat or bounce ideas off of.

Tech hubs — great places to meet other founders IF you’re lucky enough to live close to one or willing to relocate.

So when your server explodes or you finally land that big keep-the-landlord-at-bay account, where do you go to vent? brag? ask? Nowhere. You suck it up and keep working, because after all, shouldn’t everything be about working?!

This is a grueling, emotional gutting adventure, that can destroy you if you let it. Having people around that understand your troubles can mean a world of difference, for your startup and your sanity. In today’s hyperconnected world, startups need not dwell in lonely pods, laughing and crying to themselves senseless.

This is why we built Teamstory, a place to showcase the plight of the average entrepreneur; that dark, twisted, beautiful mosaic of “OMG! OMG!” moments. Think of us as that extra push forward when everything seems to be rushing backwards.

Simply put, Teamstory lets you share your startup journey and connect with other like-minds from all over the world.

Earlier this year, we asked the question “Do you guys feel this way too?”. Was it us drinking our own delicious kool-aid again or were there others like us? Fast forward to today and the community has grown from 3 crazies in Waterloo, Canada to 650 kickass entrepreneurs in over 61 countries. Startups from across the globe have already shared over 1,500 moments, and show no signs of slowing down.

As we remove our invitation only system and open up the app, we’d like to thank those 650 ninja-rock-guru-superstars who shaped Teamstory into an amazing and vibrant community. We love you guys and that boat party is on its way ;)

So whether you’re a team of one or a thousand, together we can make this the place entrepreneurs can finally call home.

Loosen up that collar, grab a drink, and share what’s really going on: we’d love to hear your team’s story.
