Hey Astrid,

Thanks for reading. For some reason I couldn’t respond to your comment earlier. Been off medium for a while so perhaps I am a little rusty.

I think I didn’t do a good job of explaining myself here. But I’ll point you to this part of what I wrote:

“What it really is, and you must understand this fundamental truth, is that you in your truest self, are already aligned and at one with God. That is why it is said, God wants for you, what you want for yourself. There is no difference between the two. The reason that it appears as though there is a difference, is that we mistake the desires borne out of external influences of all forms-family, friends, media, strangers etc, as our own desires.”

I believe it is somewhat aligned with the bible passage you have quoted.

Essentially what I was trying to say here is that there’s the mind of God that we think we know from external influences — but really is just opinions/assumptions/judgements of others. And there’s our inner selves, the holy divine within, that’s in line with God.

Being in line with God does not mean we know His mind completely. How can we know God’s mind completely ? This is impossible. We know what He reveals to us. However we can only make use of this when we are quiet/still and listen in humble obedience to Him.

On one level we know what God wants us to do — when we learn to seek the truth He has placed inside of us and quiet all the noise around us.

On another level, we are completely clueless about the bigger picture that God sees.

We don’t even know what’s in the mind of the closest friend/family member we have. How can we say we know God’s mind? We only know what he chooses to reveal to us. And that is almost always somewhat limited information because he wants us to be obedient to Him and have faith.

Abraham knew God wanted him to sacrifice Isaac- God told him to do so and he listened. Abraham did not know that God was testing his faith and commitment and wanted Abraham to prove that there was indeed nothing and no one above God in his life.

I also want to point out that Jesus Christ and God are not the same. God is the Father, as Jesus says. So even in having the mind of Christ, we do not have the mind of God.

These are generally my thoughts on this.

I agree with your conclusion: “Having the mind of Christ thus means knowing his mind, his thoughts & emotions in our regard or don’t you think?”

But this is not what I was referring to when I asked if anyone knows God’s mind. We only know the extent to which He reveals it to us. Otherwise we are to act in humble obedience and faith.

Hope this makes sense.
