Concordium Developer Challenge on techFiesta: Enhancing Security Solutions
The recently concluded Concordium developer challenge on techFiesta ran from November 10 to November 28, 2023, and it marked a milestone in the adoption and development of secure and efficient smart contracts on Concordium.
The challenge, with a bounty of $1250, saw over 500 skilled developers dive into the world of smart contract development on the Concordium blockchain. techFiesta served as the platform for participants to view all the challenge details and submit their projects. At the same time, the Concordium team reviewed the submissions and all hackathon KPIs on their techFiesta dashboard. techFiesta also provided a payment processing option for payment of bounties on chain.

Developer Training Sessions
Before the commencement of the challenge, the Concordium team conducted an intensive developer training program focused on Rust programming language and smart contract development on Concordium. The training attracted over 500 developers, underscoring its success and the high level of interest in Concordium’s technology. All the training sessions are available on the techFiesta YouTube channel and they entail the following:
1. Rust Basics and How to Develop Smart Contracts on Concordium (Part 1): During this session, participants got to understand the foundational aspects of building smart contracts using Rust specifically tailored for the Concordium blockchain. The aim was to provide a comprehensive understanding of the essential procedures and key methodologies involved in Smart contract development within the Concordium ecosystem, offering participants valuable insights into the technical process.
2. Rust basics and how to Develop Smart Contracts on Concordium (part 2): In this instructional session, the Concordium team provided comprehensive insights into the process of deploying Smart contracts specifically designed for the Concordium blockchain. They explained the complexities involved in initiating and implementing Smart contracts within Concordium’s blockchain framework, offering participants a deeper understanding of the steps essential for successful smart contract launches.
Concordium Developer Challenge
After the training session, the developers were asked to build a MultiSig Smart Contract capable of requiring three distinct accounts’ signatures for authorizing CCD transfers. This task not only tested the technical skills developers gathered from the training but also their ability to think creatively within the framework of Concordium blockchain.
After an intense period of development, 4 winners emerged, each exemplifying outstanding skill, creativity, and a deep understanding of the Concordium ecosystem. Their solutions demonstrated not just technical proficiency but also a practical understanding of real-world applications in blockchain technology.
