I Moved to Linux and It’s Even Better Than I Expected
Dan Gillmor

Long time Linux user here. With web-based apps and cloud computing, there isn’t much we can’t do. My wife is a Linux user but doesn’t know it. As a teacher, I have my students creating online so any device with a browser can participate. One issue is the hardware; I agree with the comments that design & quality of Apple-based product are a step ahead. Even conceptually: after all, it’s where the innovation has been coming from. Q: Is the existence of Corporate Computing the impetus for others to develop open-source options? To that end, I humbly suggest that the very choices we have make the winning story here. BTW.. command-line is awesomely fast and reliable! But like computing itself, if there’s no interest – passion – to try or learn it, a more convenient, almost corporate option is an X-window manager away.. :Dan
