Google’s, “My Activity”, keeps track of everything you do online and then displays it to you in a neat timeline!
On the timeline you can see which sites you visit, YouTube videos you watched, what devices you used, which apps you’ve used, and which Google products you’ve interacted with. You can also search or filter through your activity. Think of it like the search history of your online life.
If you look at your timeline you will notice how much Google really knows about you…it’s a lot. Maybe that seems a bit scary? Google allows you to disable all the tracking, or just individual components of it. The positive light I see in this scenario is at least Google is being transparent about the data they have on you and allows you to control exactly what they track.
Does Google know too much about our personal lives?
