Tidal, a music streaming app owned by Jay — Z 🎧, is in the talks of being bought by Apple in the next few months🎷🎺🎸 .

Jay — Z bought Tidal for $56 million in 2015 and revamped a set of partnership deals with some of the biggest names in music, including venture as co-owners: Alicia Keys, J. Cole, Kanye West, Beyonce, Jason Aldean, Calvin Harris, Usher, Rihanna, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Daft Punk, and Deadmau5.

This co-owner deal allows these artists to release their albums solely to Tidal for the first few weeks, like Life of Pablo by Kanye West. Spotify currently has 30 million paying subscribers where Apple has 15 million; however, if Apple closes this Deal with Tidal they would be able to accelerate user acquisition with people that have never used a streaming service.
