Can Google save Android from Cyanogen and Microsoft

Cyanogen wanted to steal Android from Google, They partnered with the guys who gave us the Windows and tied us to it for more than two decades. The knot is still tight and Microsoft’s sale of Windows Operating system has been facing severe depression. Microsoft Acted, they acted quickly. They saw the whopping opportunity in the cloud. They recently rolled out so many services which includes a new Open Visual Studio platform compatible with Linux and Mac.

Where are the guys at Google? Don’t they want to save Android? “Innovation is so dead at Google” . Analyze the services of Google, You will be able to see how many they’ve built and how many they’ve bought for the past five years.

All major innovation which are generating revenue for Google is started by people who don’t have any relationship with Google. Be it AdMob, YouTube, Android , You can name plenty. Yes of course it is a viable business model in terms of revenue, what about progress and what about values?

Google, the innovation, the revolution the company which started from a garage and they now own everything. Google owns the internet, there is no doubt in that. Can they retain it? Android has been the key if we consider the past few years of Google’s R&D. Yes, they’re rolling out different versions and updates but where’s the drawback. Are they even aware about it? Or isn’t there a solution?

Consider Apple, They releases innovations; consider Microsoft they launches new products. Microsoft Azure , the cloud service for example. They’re also acquiring services but the ratio is well biased. Google need to act now if they want to keep Android otherwise they’re certainly going to lose it.

Android is sluggish and that’s the main problem with the operating system but Apple on the other hand releases fixes with updates not new Doodles or logos. Updates have to be fixes, changing the numbers from 1.0 to 7.0 doesn’t acts like a fix.

High end smartphones aren’t concern for Android but Android on a budget smartphone is like hell. Budget smartphones rule the market these days and Microsoft recognized the potential and released several budget smartphones running on their Windows Mobile OS which is fast and responsive. The only problem that Microsoft is facing the lack of a full fledged App Store like PlayStore.

Google either has to release a lighter version of the Android to survive the threats from Microsoft and other big players. In order to retain the throne “ Innovation Must happen” ; if given time Microsoft will certainly convert their App Store to a universal App hub and by that time Cyanogen will have developed a new operating system namely “Cyanoid”.
