Just two months ago, Nintendo released its newest product, Nintendo Switch, a product dedicated to gaming. Besides gaming, the device basically has no other multimedia functions. Nevertheless, long-term fans of the company are extremely excited about the release. The price of the switch now remains officially as 299.99 USD.

I. A Combination of devices

Nintendo Switch primarily consists of a pair of detachable handles and a flat display screen. The Joy-Con handles can be used as a traditional tablet or as independent single-handed controllers. The Nintendo Switch Dock can also connect the switch games to larger displays like television screens.

II. Different play styles

1. XBOX

Switch can connect to television using the switch dock. This way the switch is like traditional XBOX and PS4 games. The two side handles on Nintendo Switch can be combined into a regular game controller by connecting them with the joy-con grip.

2. PSP

By reattaching the two joy-cons to the original switch tablet, it returns to a something like a PSP. The display shrinks down to the switch tablet screen from the previous television screen.

3. Wireless

The side handles can also be completely detached from any mediums if the users don’t feel like holding them together. What is convenient is that two people can also each take a single handle and use them to play the same game.

The Nintendo Switch supports a maximum of eight players, two players for each of the four switches.

Nintendo switch can support a single player play style, multiplayer party play style, gaming during travels, and convenient co-op games on the go.

III. IGN rating: 7.0

IGN considers that the way the Nintendo Switch blurs the line between computers and handheld devices causes it to be subpar in both fields.

IV. Conclusion

The games of Nintendo are not about cutting-edge sensory, extravagant art, or incredible computer graphics. They just make games that are fun to play and present the users many ways to play the games.

This device is directed towards the core-players that has always followed Nintendo. It may not be a good device for players that like to experience flashier VR or AR technologies, but is still a good choice when players are just looking to have fun playing games.
