While I definitely think weight is genetically biased, I guess it just means we have to try harder to keep it under control. I’ve lived with complete coach potatoes, eating take out every night, and apart from looking unfit they never pile the weight on.
Sure it isn’t fair and it is hard work, but having been to the darker end of fatness I accept that it is better than the alternative. As for putting the weight back on, I have accepted this will be a continual struggle to the day they hoist me into a coffin. There is never going to be a moment when I am not watching those calories.
Definitely agree on the gluttony and fat shaming thing. I’d love for them to try on my metabolism for a couple of years and watch that smug look slide off their face as they slowly turned into a balloon. I get 1500 calories a day, to break even. I’ve seen people eat more than that for lunch in the office, scoff donuts and cakes in the afternoon and then head off for a curry and beer after work. Still shaped like stick insects :-(
Got to just accept the hand you have been dealt I guess. I have pizza probably once a year, makes it a special occasion. It’s like tasting pizza for the first time again, can’t always be well behaved… :-)
