The three “Teal” breakthroughs are an interdependent whole, where the parts mutually define themselves. Taking one out and we dump the possibility of organizing “inspired by the next stage of human consciousness” (Frederic Laloux). This seems to be even more so when we take the evolutionary purpose out from “Teal”.
Wholeness, and even self-management, is fully compatible with Green values. What gives their combination the radical novelty is mixing in the evolutionary purpose, the organization’s unique “creative impulse or potential that we want to tune into, independent from what we want ourselves” (Brian Robertson).
In spite our different views, I appreciate the author’s attention to the “evolutionary purpose” distinction that I hold as a linchpin to the new paradigm of organizing work and commerce. May our debate contribute to strengthen and spread the future in the present.
