As the firm continues to evolve its offering to clients across the UK, Amey Consulting has refreshed its visual identity. According to CEO Andy Milner, the new look will help reflect the firm’s “unique strength and breadth” of expertise to clients looking to accelerate their sustainability journeys.

In a statement announcing the changes, Milner explained, “Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time, and the UK Government has rightly set ambitious targets for decarbonisation. When I joined the business, I was determined to accelerate Amey’s journey towards putting sustainability at the core of everything we do. This is an ambitious mission and will lead to the creation of more sustainable infrastructure solutions that considers Net Zero, climate adaptation and resilience.”

Milner rejoined Amey as CEO at the start of 2023. He had exited the role in 2019, but was re-installed as boss after private equity firms Buckthorn Partners and One Equity Partners (OEP) completed a £400 million acquisition of Amey from Ferrovial at the end of December 2022.

In the months since, Amey has looked to put the new investment to use — purchasing citilogik as it sought to boost its mobile data advisory wing, and building capacity for a raft of new contract wins. This includes partnering with Finboot to launch the first use-case of blockchain technologies in the UK railway sector.

Milner is keen to keep Amey on this transformative track, though, and the company is also reviewing and developing its services to ensure all its activities are responding to the climate change challenge. In particular, on his watch, Amey has announced that it is committed to using its data analytics capabilities, and engineering and technological expertise, to design, develop and deliver new infrastructure solutions to support clients with the energy transition and their journey to net zero.

“Through our unique capabilities and engineering expertise, we are redefining the art of the possible, but we know that this is only the start of the journey if we are to achieve net zero for our clients,” Milner added. “Amey’s unique strength comes from the breadth and depth of our engineering and technology expertise, which delivers added value and better outcomes for our clients, the wider public and our environment. Our unrivalled legacy of success in large scale project management gives us a unique combination of engineering, consulting, technology, data, operational excellence and end-to-end contract management experience.”

Amey’s former logo was entirely greyscale, and featured a series of straight lines fanning out and overlapping from the last letter of its name — possibly suggesting Amey was the firm to turn to at the point where complex problems intersected. This has been replaced by a sleeker, more simple logo consisting of the firm’s name. Written in navy-blue, the more pronounced logo seems to stand out better, while the capital A at its beginning is made up of two disconnected lines resembling roads which are changing direction.
