High pressure tanks are classified according to their operating pressure. The three main categories are low pressure, high pressure, and very high pressure tanks. Low pressure tanks typically have an operating pressure of up to 15 psi, while high pressure tanks at pressure can operate up to 150 psi. Very high pressure tanks are those with an operating pressure above 150 psi.
High pressure tank features
There are several features that are common to all high pressure tanks. These include a strong and durable construction, a corrosion-resistant finish, and apressure relief valve.
High pressure tanks must also be able to withstand the forces generated by the high internal pressures. This requires the use of materials that can resist deformation under load, such as reinforced concrete or steel.
The most important feature of a high pressure tank is its ability to safely store and hold large amounts of compressed gas. This is accomplished by the use of thick walls and strong construction materials.
The high pressure tank must be equipped with a strong and reliable containment system to prevent any leaks or ruptures.
The high pressure tanks must also be equipped with a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) in order to release excess pressures and prevent the tank from exploding.
