Many companies have outsourced the recruitment process to recruitment agencies/headhunters/consultancies since the start of the 2nd and 3rd industrial revolutions in which people started to work for giant corporations/companies. The business model of recruitment including screening CVs, finding potential talents, and selecting right candidates for specific job role becomes more popular and more important nowadays.

The core business value of any recruitment agencies these days, is to be a match maker between an employee and an employer. It seems to be a straight forward task, doesn’t it ? So, why do employers still need recruitment agencies to find the right employee? Why don’t they do it themselves via online platforms or direct applications? The answer of these questions lies on time efficiency and connections/networks.

Secondly, although the hiring process may take longer time without the helps of the agencies, it may give a good insight of the right talent. We will soon see the trend of this hiring process without the helps of the agencies in the coming decades. With the help of so called AI (Artificial Intelligence), this process can be automated. As far as the interview process is concerned, many agencies these days are still using traditional method of hiring talents. Several unnecessary talking over the phone just want to double check that the candidate is a real human with the same background can be automated with the help of the technology, such as Video Resumes, and any other Online CV platforms. Moreover, the filtering and recognizing that the candidates have the necessary skills needed towards the intended job functions has already been automated with the help of LinkedIn search engine platform.

Thirdly, the hiring process could be an absolute benefit for gathering data of the prospective candidates and making it into profitable sales revenue. It sounds little bit odd, but if you consider the contact details from the hiring process can be used for promoting the company. This might not be possible if the hiring process has been done by the recruitment agencies. They will keep the contact details secret and that’s what their core business model is.

Last but not least, the company gains better and powerful network with highly referral talents that they’ve gathered through out the hiring process. This will last to make the optimization of the hiring process becomes better and better since there is a quotes saying that people tend to attract the like minded people. So, if the company starts with hiring the right talented people themselves, it will flourish in the future to attract even better highly talented people.

So, The bottom line is: Sooner of later, LinkedIn and/or any online job platforms will replace recruitment agencies/headhunters in the coming decades!!! So, why don’t you start revolutionize the hiring process now?
