Freedom 2.0 / Towards a New Physics of Human Systems

“The framers lacked the mathematical, sociological, and psychological conceptual frameworks that help us understand much better the actual dynamics of human societies, and therefore they could not predict the strange evolution of concepts like coercion, servitude, and freedom.”

Having read Plato, Aristotle, Adam Smith, Tocqueville, I don’t think this is the case at all. I think the framers of the Constitution were much better versed, in human nature, and history. Our democracy has devolved into a type of technocratic neo feudalism. Even if they never could have predicted our specific technological innovations, its wrong to say they never foresaw the re-emergence of a feudal way of life. A global rentier class has re-emerged. Tocqueville devoted a lot of time to that possibility and the earlier philosophers I mentioned new this pattern as well.
