Related to longer fasts, if you aren’t eating, your GI tract shuts down. It would be interesting to know how your chemistry changes after that happens. My impression is that this happens three to four days in, but I’m not sure about that, and I’m sure if varies with the person. My experience is with juice fasts which are probably different. Perhaps this is actually what is happening when your ketones start spiking on day three.
