Thanks, Bruno! I’ve read Weick, but not Liquorman — adding him to my tottering stack now. I think the current emphasis on purpose stems from the self-fulfillment movement with a shove from corporations that want more from their employees. It’s interesting to hear how Sheryl Sandberg talks about how we should seek to align our values and the purpose of our employers. It sounds very inspirational on the surface — but it feels like corporate Kool-Aid to me. But then, I’m a cynic about these things.
