In total agreement! He thought he was still in America, where they would’ve took his word at face value. And the focus would have immediately turned to finding a perpetrator. Even if there wasn’t one, they would’ve suppressed the evidence and found someone to fit the outlandish concocted narrative! And that is how you kill two birds with one stone: you imprison someone(gotta feed the beast, the prison system) and you keep his reputation in tact!!
