Key data point: Rails can only scale to support a $31,000,000,000 company.

Let me back up - this is an excellent article and I learned a lot from it. Thank you!

I couldn’t resist a jab at the “rails can’t scale” header. Frankly, I’m amazed when any general-purpose web framework survives to support such a large scale application. My point is merely that many of these issues are not critical when starting out, and Rails is still pretty great for early-stage web applications.

The process of migrating from a mostly server-side rendered app to a hybrid app to a fully client-side rendered app is the interesting story here (and a good one). It’s the key problem many hugely successful applications have to solve.
