For the longest time in my life I have been reflecting on the sustainability of systems around us- what is their time-period, were they designed to last forever? And how do we live as communities? Are we thinking of the lives we impact at each moment, or towards the next 5 or 10 years? It really fascinates me in terms of its Soka Values. Soka means “Value creating” in a Japanese philosophy. How might we understand the soka values within the growing landscape of our cities and communities and their sustainability 10 years from today? The rapid urbanization challenges and the rise in the number of people inhabiting cities of the world by 2030( a timeframe of a little less than 12 years) is directly related to the framework taken up by the UN, addressing challenges of Global Warming and call to action needed in the space of Sustainability by designers and innovators.

Towards this challenge, I am planning to use Systems Mapping and Scenarios as methods to explore how Artificial Intelligence in the industry of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN agenda of 2030 is affecting “makers” as well as “consumers” especially the vulnerable group. I am intrigued by a similar aspiration of taking everyone along.
